Dying Relationship

One afternoon, when I was passing through a road side I saw a little being enjoying a fine nap under a tree. On a closer look I recognized it as a puppy.
I could understand its hunger from its tapering belly. As I went nearer, it woke up and began to run. I think he saw the affability in my eyes and came near me. I gave him few biscuits from my lunch box. He munched it eagerly and I left.
Next day at the same time of the day I visited him and he was waiting for me. I gave him few more biscuits and for the first time he licked my toes. I called him Toto. That evening I went there for a second time and called Toto and he came running. I gave him some bread slices.
The next day I went there as accustomed and called Toto but he didn't come. I waited there for some time and walked away in disappointment. Little away I found him dying on the road crushed by some vehicle, Toto was unable to hold it until I reached him.
I felt heavens crashing on me and someone started weeping inside me for something. I was suddenly alone and was a looser, a looser of love and affection of a short term relationship, from a poor little puppy.
I understood how easily and quickly relationships could build up and how terrible it feels when such a bond is lost.
